Washington Butler is a native of Puyallup Washington was always interested in arts and crafts. She was a contestant in singing contests, performed in the school's theater program and was a singer in choirs. Her move to Los Angeles in order to learn at The University of Southern California and then played Belle as the Princess for one and a half years at Disneyland. After she quit school, she began searching for a talent agency and casting for roles on television and film. Butler was a guest on the TV show CSI: Miami. The year before, she was an actor in the Don Stark web-series Luke 11-17. Butler had a role in the web series I Love Vampires and a frequent appearance on Luke 11:17. The title she won was for I Spit on Your Grave which is a remake of the 1978 film of the same title. Though initially sceptical about the films nakedness and violence the strong character development and feminist inclination helped convince her to take the role.Butler starred as Jennifer Hills a novelist who has been brutally raped by gangs while being in a cabin the woods. Butler began filming The Stranger Within (a psychological thriller) in Mallorca Spain along with Estella Ward and William Baldwin back in November 2011. The film was shot in addition to New York City and Copenhagen, the film was scheduled to shoot in Copenhagen Denmark. She also became part of the crew for Treachery which starred Michael Biehn.
